Pyromancy now scales in effectiveness with either your faith or intellect stats, but has no hard requirements to be used either way, so it can be used by anyone.Been using southern ritual band+2 with flame weapon and 2 flame swathes on my melee build. If you only have one slot, you pretty much have to have Flame Swathe equipped.Ensure you roll through the urns on the ledge to cover yourself in water, then don’t hang about, get down the stairs. Use the Flash Sweat pyromancy then run to the chest at the end of the lava walkway. Once you get to it, heal and use Flash Sweat again. Open the chest and retrieve the Chaos Storm pyromancy.

At that point you have a fast, high damage spell with a good cast count. Pyro is an excellent compliment to many other builds.
